Treng Kuy Chheng, Cambodia
On Treng Kuy Chheng’s first day at DDD, she wondered what those 20 people were doing with their computers. DDD was her first job experience, she knew very little English, and had no experience using a computer. DDD provided her a job and a scholarship to attend Pannasastra University, where she studied accounting.
Ten years later, she was leading DDD’s effort to train and hire those with disabilities. “It is amazing to me to witness DDD’s growth and how it has brought job opportunities to those who previously had little hope of finding a meaningful job,” she said.
Now Treng creates job opportunities for other people with disabilities. “I’m so proud to be part of DDD and never tire of telling DDD’s story about how much impact it has had in Cambodia and Laos and especially for me. Nothing in the world is more harmful than isolating someone or isolating oneself because of a disability. DDD helps bring people into the world of work.”
Today, Chheng is a Senior Manager of Finance and Administration at SC Wado Electronics.
