AMP Robotics develops robotic systems to pick recyclable materials off conveyor belts for recovery. AMP needed necessary input data to train the robotic systems to recognize and separate different recyclable materials.

DDD partnered with AMP to input valuable recycling data, including segmenting identifiable recycling materials using color-coded polygons and labeling thousands of different materials based on 17 categories such as plastic, paper, and aluminum. Then associates performed QA to ensure that 100% of labels were correct. With this data, AMP was able to train and improve their robotic systems to recover previously missed recyclable materials, thereby saving tons of material from ending up in landfills.
