Our staff make a critical first step by applying to our training program - it signals the beginning of their progression out of poverty to a promising future.
After an intensive recruitment process, in which we explore both candidates' financial need and capacity for learning, we invite individuals to join our six-month-long training program. Many have never touched a computer before, so we start with the basics. Our trainees learn everything from how to turn a computer on to mastering speed typing. At the same time, they gain basic English skills and are guided to start thinking about their personal development.
After six months, they emerge from our training program with marketable IT skills and a confidence in their abilities that opens them to good job prospects. More than half of these successful trainees are then hired to work fulltime at DDD. The exact number depends on DDD's current labor need and our trainees' skill level and goals.
