Digital Library Services

DDD has successfully served a long list of digital libraries - helping them scan, key, OCR and tag archives from a variety of source formats and languages, including English, French and Latin. Below is a list of our digital library services in more detail.

Double-keying

Our double-keying process with proprietary software allows us to digitize even the most difficult texts with high accuracy. We can double-key a variety of Latin-character languages.

OCR

We can provide high-volume Optical Character Recognition services for large-scale conversion projects. Generally, our OCR accuracy rates will allow for excellent searchability at a low cost.

OCR cleanup

Although it is cost-effective, OCR sometimes does not deliver user-ready end products. Through a variety of methodologies, we can transform your OCR to higher accuracy level ASCII files, which can, in many cases, be displayed as HTML documents.

Markup/Tagging

We can provide consistently well-formed tags for a wide variety of Document Type Definitions (DTD), in several coding formats, including SGML, XML, and HTML. We can code to TEI or help you develop a customized tagging scheme. Furthermore, we will work with you to update the DTD as new elements appear during the digitization process.

Scanning Services

We offer high-volume scanning services from a variety of source material types. We can cost efficiently scan both sheet-fed and flat-bed scanning jobs. We can also crop, straighten and alter image size, contrast and resolution.

Other Tasks

We have the flexibility to meet many other digitization-related needs. We will work creatively with you to devise the most cost-effective, accurate solution for your project.
