DDD Success Story: Bain Capital

When Bain Capital was in the process of analyzing the U.S. cable television industry to explore potential investment opportunities, they turned to DDD to provide a significant amount of data entry on a quick-turnaround basis. As part of their research they came across a rather significant database that contained much of the information needed to finish a detailed industry model. With a pending internal deadline approaching, they needed the information quickly converted to an electronic format that could be analyzed and summarized. In just a few days, DDD was able to enter data and send it out in Microsoft Excel format. Bain was able to manipulate and analyze the information to successfully complete their analysis.

DDD used double-entry methodology to provide the high accuracy needed for such a high-stakes analysis. Bain’s most important criteria, however, was speed of completion, and DDD was able to immediately marshal the resources necessary to complete the task in an extremely short timeframe. Given the time-zone differences, the client was able to provide data entry during working hours in Boston, Massachusetts and have it processed during the night. This time-zone differential can be a tremendous advantage for the fastest turnaround projects, especially where data is ongoing.
